One of my most read blog parts so far have been a little ditty I put together after finally figured out how to make a "around the world", with the ball football. So little taste of "how" success made me think a little about other ways to share what has and hasn't worked for me over the years.
With this feeling, and with more than a decade of experience and a lifetime of experience to bear, coaching gaming, this is a segment that I wrote to check out some of what has been helpful to me.
The basis of any great player is ball control. I have seen and used many different techniques to develop skills of ball control. One such technique is to incorporate the use of ball mini, essentially a ball of size 1, for its normal practice.
Due to smaller surface area, the ball mini requires pin point accuracy of touch. Shooting, trapping, passing of title-all become precision exercises. The tendency for most young players is to replace the skill with power, but the ball mini necessarily not reward power – so that the player has to stay focused on touch.
In a recent field of futsal in Street Soccer Indoor in metro Atlanta, former Defense Atlante and Colorado Rapids Antonio de la Torre, used almost exclusively mini balls to work ball control, passing and shooting drills with their young participants. the logic is simple.According to de la Torre, "If you can master the control of a ball of this size [referring to ball mini], playing with a regulation Futsal Cup size or outdoor ball that will be much easier."
With this background in mind, players-begin by practicing your skills runs with a mini ball and ball regulations. How would you do with your regular ball, use all surfaces of your boots and thighs and head.
Bus-consider incorporating mini balls in some of your workouts and precision control. Any passage exercises ball or shooting exercises that currently employs will be strengthened considerably, incorporating ball mini as again, players will be forced into with precision power. I think you'll find this addition to your coaching scheme extremely beneficial.
